This is my wife Cathy’s shot, which I love for its dramatic lighting and how her vision turned what I saw as a problem into an opportunity. We were both shooting in the same location, of course, but when I saw this spot I passed it on. Reason: the direct sunlight on the yellow cloth in the background was throwing a very strong yellow cast on the faces of everyone around it. So I passed this by and looked for other moments to catch. About an hour later, wifey shows me this pic. I was floored. (She has a habit of doing that to me.) That golden-orange glow looks like firelight.
Lesson learned: look at everything as a possibility first! 🙂
